Bank on Benny And Paul in Scottsville BiPot

Bettors are faced with a somewhat challenging nine-race card at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday and the exotic bets appear likely to be worth catching.

With the odds exception, the fields are large and competitive and finding a banker on the card is not easy.

However, there is prospective BiPot banker in Race 2, the opening leg, and with all the betting opportunities coming up for punters on Saturday with the running of the R10-million Hollywoodbets Durban and 11 other races at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Saturday, it would be useful to build up an early kitty.

The runner that does stand out at Scottsville is Benny And Paul, who lines up in Race 2, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1200m.

This two-year-old son of Querari has run only twice, on debut over 1200m at HWB Kenilworth in February and then again over 1400m at Greyville on 30 May. This Peter Muscutt-trained colt ran third in the Cape, beaten just 2.10 by Lady Jean, and then a 0.80-length second behind Coast Of The Sun, where he suffered interference.

He should have come on with that run and from a decent No 3 draw, he looks hard to oppose.

The majority of runners are unraced but reading the trainers’ comments at the front of the Computaform, they all appear to be in need of the run.

In any case, as far as the BiPot is concerned, should the first two places be taken by unraced runners, the first runner home that has raced will also be included in the BiPot.

Callan Murray has ridden him both of his starts and he retains the ride this time around.
