Turffontein bettors can get off to a good start

In Race 1, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1600m, Mike Azzie sends out Snowblade who impressed in his debut race last time.
The well-related juvenile produced an eye-catching debut when runner-up over 1000m after drifting alarmingly in the market to 25-1. Despite the lack of support, he travelled professionally and finished his race off strongly, to finish a 2.50-length second behind a highly regarded Mike and Mathew de Kock runner, Fierceness.
The step up to 1600m looks ideal and Rachel Venniker’s valuable 1.5kg allowance only strengthens his claims. Natural improvement should see him go one better.
Another of the stallion’s progeny should strike in Race 2, a Maiden Juvenile Plate for fillies over 1600m where Feast Of Berries appeals as the obvious improver for the De Kock-trained filly. She attracted support on debut over 1160m and shaped with plenty of encouragement when finishing fourth.
She is another who should benefit from the longer distance judging by her pedigree, as her dam, Redberry Lane, excelled over the trip, winning four races including the Grade 1 Garden Province Stakes on Durban July day in 2018.
Feast Of Berries looks the type to leave her sprint debut form well behind.
