Snaith filly to steal the show in KZN

There is a tricky card on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday and finding a best bet on the card is not an easy proposition but at this time of the year it is usually worthwhile going along with the Western Cape raiders as they tend to have a touch more class than their local opposition.

With that in mind it is probably worth relying on Justin Snaith-trained La Landonne in Race 7, a Class 4 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1400m.

This is the first time this three-year-old daughter of Legislate will be racing on the Polytrack but she is in good form and has done particularly well since leaving the Western Cape.

She made her first port of call in the Eastern Cape where she contested a race over 1400m at Fairview 20 March, but on the turf track, which she won easily, beating Dupont Emerald by two lengths. Two winners have come out of that form line, including the runner-up who has since gone on to win both her starts.

La Landonne’s next race was at Hollywoodbets Greyville on 9 May, again over 1400m on the turf. She flew home late to win going away by 1.05 lengths, beating Past Is Prologue. Once again two winners from three runners went on to win their next starts.

This time she will try the Polytrack and if she does take to the surface she should be a very hard filly to beat. She is drawn well in gate No 3 and in-form Mickaëlle Michel, who will be riding this filly for the first time, takes 1.5kg off her back.
