Miss World to claim Middle Stakes victory

An entertaining Middle Stakes for fillies and mares over 1400m heads up the card at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday. Race 5 contains some talented runners, but the race looks strongly competitive and there are many with winning chances.

Perhaps the runner to go with is Adam Azzie-trained Miss World, who is well bred, well drawn and well weighted.

This four-year-old daughter of One World has taken a while to mature and produce her best form but currently she is in good shape and her last three runs have produced two wins and a 0.15 second place behind Rainbow Reward.

In that race, which was over 1000m on the turf track Hollywoodbets Greyville, she lost ground at the start and flew up late for that runner-up spot.

This will be her first run at Scottsville which could be a problem, and she also has yet to prove herself over further than 1250m.

However, she did finish a 3.15-length fifth behind Jet Force in a Progress Plate over 1400m at HWB Kenilworth in February and Des Maclachlan’s runner is among the favourites for the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint over 1200m at Greyville on Sunday 26 July.

Miss World will be having her third run after a rest so should be in tip-top condition for this race. Serino Moodley takes the ride and they will jump from gate No 4.
