2026 EQUUS AWARDS FOR RACING MEDIA – Celebrating Excellence in Racing Storytelling

Johannesburg, South Africa — The Equus Awards celebrate excellence in South African horseracing, both on and off the track.
The annual Equus Awards for Racing Media honour excellence in the journalism, photography, broadcasting and digital storytelling that bring our sport to life.
As the ways in which racing stories are told continue to evolve, the Equus Awards are committed to recognising excellence wherever outstanding horseracing storytelling happens. Whether in print, on television, through digital platforms or on social media, the stories of our sport live on long after the races are run. In that spirit, journalists, photographers, broadcasters and digital content creators are invited to submit their best work produced during the 2025/26 South African horseracing season.
We are pleased to announce that entries for this year’s Equus Awards for Racing Media are now open.
