World Of Alice stands out in Jubilee Stakes

Two fillies could dominate the outcome of the Grade 3 TAB Jubilee Stakes over 1800m on the Standside track at Turffontein on Sunday.
This race is the last chance runner looking to earn a place in the final field of the Hollywoodbets Durban July and at the opposite end, those on the cusp need to be sure they perform well enough not to be ousted from the R10-million race.
Olivia’s Way fits into that category as she is lying in 19th spot on the log. A win would surely secure her a run in the big race but she does need a top performance.
It could be argued – tongue in cheek – that Roy Magner’s charge is the second-best horse in the country because she would run second to the best horse in the country.
She really could do with a win in this and Sereno Moodley will be given the task this time. However, she is often her own worst enemy because she takes time to get going and tends to hang out badly. She would also be well served if she can get a strong pace. She carries 55.5kg and is joint best-weighted runner along with Atticus Finch.
However, she could find one too good for her in another filly, Sean Tarry-trained World Of Alice, who has regained her best form in her two recent runs. She first ran a cracker to finish 3.50 lengths behind Komati River over 1200m at the Vaal and followed that up with an excellent 1.30-length fourth behind Money Heist over 1400m at this course.
This 1800m will suit her even better and with just 51.5kg on her back and Muzi Yeni up, she could notch up her first win since October last year.
The Egoli Mile (Non-Black Type) is the second leg of the Highveld Challenge, the first leg having been won by King Harald.
Magner’s charge will be back for the second leg with Richard Fourie up again, but he could find one better in Joe Soma-trained Errol Flynn.
This son of Master Of My Fate is heading for far bigger things and with Keagan de Melo up, he stands out as a banker in all bets.
