The Bachelorette to get bettors off to winning start

Going into the final two months of the 2025/26 season, it is already apparent that Justin Snaith has a winning grip on his seventh champion trainer’s title. So far he has earned R28,683,176 this season and is currently R10,774,360 clear of closest rival Sean Tarry.

There is still a lot of money up for grabs in the next couple of months, including the R10 million pot on offer at this year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July.

However, Tarry has had a decent season and he looks set to pick up a few more winners at the Vaal on Thursday where he has a number of promising runners.

But perhaps the best of the day comes up in Race 1 where he sends out The Bachelorette in this Juvenile Plate for fillies over 1200m.

Four of the nine runners have already won a race but there was a lot to like about her first run where she was touched off 0.40 lengths by Queen Leila over 1000m on the Turffontein Inside track on 26 February.

She was reported to be coughing after that race but she will get the opportunity to avenge that defeat as Queen Leila is also back in this field.

The Bachelorette will be returning from a 91-day break but she will have been given time to mature after that run and will be getting weight for the winners, so will meet Paul Matchett’s charge on 3kg better terms.

It is worth noting that Tarry’s charge received some solid betting support on debut to go off a 14-10 favourite so she had to be showing some good work at home.

Keagan de Melo rode her on debut and he will be back in the irons on this occasion.
