GOOD SOCCER, GOOD CHANCES TO WIN BIG

The FIFA World Cup is done but there’s no lull in the action for soccer fans. The top leagues in Argentina, Brazil, Scandinavia and the USA have already resumed and the Premier Soccer League makes an early start to the 2026-27 season with a full round of eight Betway Premiership matches next weekend. The Scottish Premier League gets going a day earlier with a Dundee United-Rangers clash on Friday night 31 July.

SOCCER 13 SET TO TOTAL R8.5 MILLION!

There’s good money to be won with a TAB soccer bet this weekend. A R3.2-million carryover Soccer 13 on Saturday is set to produce an all-13-correct jackpot pool of R8.5 million and there are R125,000-added Soccer 10 bets on Friday and Saturday night, which should both generate substantial pools.

Tonight’s cash-boosted Soccer 10 contains a challenging mixture of games from different leagues, but there do appear to be several potential bankers starting with Irish Division 1 log-leaders Cork City. They have lost their last three, but one was a friendly and the other a cup clash.

Their record in the league is much more impressive (four wins in a row before losing to Longford in their last league game) and they are currently head the log 17 points clear of their nearest rivals.

Tonight they are away to the University College of Dublin, who they beat 3-1 when they last clashed, and Cork look a sound bet to get back on the winning trail

Other bankers look to be St Patrick’s Athletic to win at home to Dundalk in an Irish Premier Division encounter, and a home victory for Gimnasia against Cordoba in a premier division clash in Argentina. And New Mexico should be able to win away to Birmingham in a second division clash in the USA.

BANK ON AGF IN DANISH SUPERLIGA

Saturday’s carryover Soccer 13 comprises mostly games from Scandinavian leagues with two Irish Premier Division games and a Swiss Super League clash completing the match line-up.

Aarhus (AGF) won the Danish Superliga last season – their first title success for 40 years – and they should make a winning start to the new season on Saturday, when they are at home to Brondby. The game is M2 in the carryover Soccer 13.

Other suggested bankers are Sirius and GAIS Goteborg to win at home against IFK Goteborg and Halmstad respectively in Swedish Allsvenskan matches.

Bankers for Saturday’s cash-boosted Soccer 10 are Colombus to beat Cincinnati at home in an MLS clash and Vancouver Whitecaps to defeat Minnesota.

M1 Cobh Ramblers vs Bray Wanderers: Here’s a good opportunity to kick off the weekend with a big win. TAB is adding R125,000 to the pool, which should total some R1.5 million. An Irish Division 1 clash is first up in the pool. Bray are on a four-game winning streak and Ramblers on a four-game losing streak. Bray are second on log and six points ahead of fifth-placed Cobh. M2 Kerry FC vs Finn Harps: Kerry winless in last three and Finn Harps have lost six of last nine. Kerry eighth on log and four points ahead of Finn Harps in 10th. Finn Harps won last meeting between them 1-0 in May.

M3 Treaty United vs Athlone Town: Treaty have lost five of their last nine games and Athlone have won two in a row. Athlone seventh on log with 27 points, four ahead of Treaty in ninth. Their last meeting ended 0-0.

M4 UC Dublin vs Cork City: Cork have lost last three but head Irish Division 1 table by 17 points after 23 games. UCD have lost six of their last 10. Cork won last meeting 3-1, their eighth win in the 15 clashes with five drawn.

M5 St Patrick’s Athletic vs Dundalk: St Pat’s third and seven points ahead of Dundalk in fourth in the Irish Premier League. Both have won five of their last 10 games with St Pat’s having won last meeting 1-0 away.

M6 Gimnasia Mendoza vs Central Cordoba: Gimnasia unbeaten in seven of last 10 games and won last meeting between sides 1-0 away. Cordoba have lost four of last six and are three points behind Gimnasia in the table.

M7 Velez Sarsfield vs Instituto ACC: Velez unbeaten in six of last seven games, while Instituto have won six of last nine. Velez won last meeting 1-0 away in January and are third, seven points ahead of Instituto.

M8 Birmingham Legion FC vs New Mexico United: New Mexico unbeaten in last nine games, whereas Birmingham are winless in eight of last 10. New Mexico are third on log with 24 points, 10 more than Birmingham in 10th.

M9 CA Huracan vs Banfield: Huracan are seventh in Argentina’s Liga Profesional with 22 points, four points above 12th-placed Banfield. Huracan have lost their last two games, while Banfield are unbeaten in last four. Their last meeting ended 1-1 in January.

M10 CA Platense vs CA Union: Union eighth and five points ahead of Platense in 12th after 16 games. Union winless in last three and Platense have lost four of last eight. Last meeting ended 0-0 in January.

M2 New York RB vs Charlotte FC: New York unbeaten in four games; Charlotte have won last two. New York fifth with 22 points, one more than Charlotte in sixth. Charlotte won last meeting 6-1 at home in March.

M3 Columbus Crew vs Cincinnati: Cincinnati are seventh with 20 points, four ahead of 10th-placed Columbus. Cincinnati unbeaten in nine of last 10 games; Columbus unbeaten in last four. Cincinnati won last meeting 2-1 in November.

M4 New York City vs Chicago Fire: Chicago on three-game winning streak and are fourth in table with 26 points, seven more than NYC who have lost their last two.

M5 Philadelphia Union vs Seattle Sounders FC: Philadelphia winless in last eight games and Seattle have lost three straight. Seattle sixth with 24 points in the MLS table and 14 ahead of Philadelphia in last place.

M6 Vasco da Gama vs Mirassol: Vasco da Gama have lost five of their last six games while Mirassol have won six of their last 10. Mirassol have won the last three clashes with Vasco, but are one point and one place behind them in 18th on the log.

M7 Minnesota United vs Vancouver Whitecaps: Vancouver lead the Western Conference with 32 points, 10 ahead of eighth-placed Minnesota. Vancouver have won six of last 10 games, whereas Minnesota are winless in four. Vancouver won the last meeting between them 6-0.
