Supplicate to continue winning streak at Redcar

Roger Varian has placed Supplicate carefully to bring up a hat-trick this season and she can make it five on the bounce overall in the Market Cross Jewellers Handicap at Redcar on Tuesday.

The Cheveley Park Stud homebred began her winning sequence at Lingfield in December and has picked up where she left off since returning from a winter break, with a successful comeback in a novice event at Bath followed by summer handicap wins at Nottingham and Salisbury.

She defied a penalty to win at Bath, won off 77 at Nottingham and with another 4lb on her back at Salisbury, which arguably was her most impressive win to date.

Clearly still on the upgrade she has another 6lb to contend with, but is from a family with plenty of black type winners.

This is a good time of year for the three-year-olds to be taking on their elders while they still get a weight allowance and with that in mind, Ed Bethell’s Return Of The Gods appeals in the Start Your RacingTV Free Trial Now Handicap.

A winner of one of his two starts at two, he added a second success at Doncaster in July, taking his mark up to 79.

Flick Of An Eye looks another likely juvenile winner for Simon and Ed Crisford in the British EBF Novice Stakes at Yarmouth.

He looks certain to be sharper at the second time of asking and is difficult to oppose.
