Raiders stand out in KZN features

There are two feature races heading up the 10-race card at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday and both could go the way of visiting horses.
The first comes up in Race 7 and is the Grade 3 Dennis Drier Poinsettia Stakes for fillies and mares over 1200m, and Candice Bass-trained Symphony In White looks the runner to beat. She ran third in this race last year, and although it might not be reliable to compare form based on a race run one year ago, the fact is that Symphony In White is better off at the weights with both winner Mai Sensation and second-placed Asiya Phambili and is capable of turning that form around.
There is a later race at Hollywoodbets Kenilworth, the Grade 3 Socrates Stakes on 6 December, in which Asiye Phambili beat the Bass-trained runner by 0.75 lengths and is now 4.5kg better off.
However, that race was over 1000m which is not ideal for Symphony In White who was finishing the faster of the pair. She will be a lot better over 1200m but unfortunately Andrew Fortune will not be riding and has been replaced by Tristan Godden.
The Listed In Full Flight Handicap over 1100m could go the way of Sean Tarry-trained Speedman. This three-year-old son of Vercingetorix has won four of his five starts, his only defeat coming over 1600m when he ran third.
He will need to prove that he will take to the Scottsville track, but Tarry has done well at the course and Speedman should rise to the occasion.
He carries just 56kg and will have Craig Zackey on his back. The only concern is his wide draw which is often not ideal on that course but that should not deter this gelding.
