FAIRVIEW UPDATE: SUNDAY, 18 OCTOBER 2026

GQEBERHA, South Africa – 4Racing advises that Fairview has received 12mm of rain overnight. With more rain predicted throughout the day, the Algoa Cup Meeting unfortunately has to be moved to the Polytrack.

Penetrometer tests conducted this morning (18 October 2026) are returning inconsistent readings of 40-45, and following consultation with trainers and jockeys, it has been decided to move the Algoa Cup Meeting for Sunday, 18 October from the Turf track to the Polytrack.

While it is extremely regrettable that the meeting cannot be held on the turf track, the 4Racing and Fairview track management teams need to prioritise the safety of horses and riders above all else.

Race 1: the distance will change from 1800m to 1900m.

All other distances remain the same.

Card changes will be disseminated in due course.

ENDS.
