FAIRVIEW UPDATE: FRIDAY, 7 AUGUST 2026

Johannesburg, South Africa — Following a number of Fairview race meetings having been moved from turf to the Polytrack due to adverse weather conditions, every effort is being made to keep the fixture for Friday, 7 August 2026 on the turf as programmed.

Gallops were conducted on the turf track on Wednesday morning, with the going currently rated Soft.

The weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is favourable. To allow the track time to dry and maximise the prospects of Friday’s fixture remaining on the turf as scheduled, a further round of gallops will be conducted at 10h00 on Thursday, 6 August, to enable a final assessment of the track conditions.

A final decision on Friday’s meeting will be communicated following Thursday morning’s gallops.
