Ebisu stands out back on Greyville Polytrack

Lucinda Woodruff has been going through a hot phase of late and she could provide the banker of the day on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday when she sends out Ebisu in Race 3, a Class 4 Handicap for fillies and mares over 2000m.

One is never sure when horses move up to KwaZulu-Natal for the season from the Western Cape as to how they will handle the Polytrack but this three-year-old daughter of One World demonstrated she had no problem with the surface, leading from almost start to finish over 1800m in another Class 4 Handicap to beat Red Coral by 3.60 lengths.

She did receive a 3.5kg penalty for that win and will need to prove herself over 200m further, but the manner of the victory was so impressive she should be able to overcome that obstacle.

Her earlier form in the Western Cape was decent enough to indicate Ebisu is above average so there does appear to be a lot more in the tank.

Callan Murray was aboard last time and he will be back in the irons this time. She jumps from No 3 draw which will also improve her chances.
