Big July names remain in the hat after first declarations

Of the 63 horses entered for this year’s R10-million Grade 1 Hollywoodbets Durban July, 44 remain in play after first declarations closed at 11:00 on Monday 11 May.
While there were 19 scratchings, all the big names remain, including defending champion The Real Prince from the yard of Dean Kannemeyer as well as champion trainer Justin Snaith’s fabulous foursome See It Again, Eight On Eighteen, Legal Counsel, and Okavango.
Snaith has also confirmed the entries of Native Ruler, Note To Self, Wish List, Happy Verse, and Regulation. Great Plains is the only runner from the Snaith yard scratched.
Trainers have until Tuesday 12 May to submit first supplementary entries, while final supplementary entries close on Monday 15 June, when the weights will also be published.
Final declarations close on Monday 22 June.
